So you have your eyes on a management position that involves supervising a group of people. It's going to mean a big increase in pay and finally get you up and out of the crass mass where you always knew you belonged. One thing that you have to bear in mind though, is that along with the new position will be new expectations and if you don't impress both those above you, as well as those you are going to supervise, your stint in management may be short lived.

So what about a leadership seminar? Can attending one really help or are they just another way to get people like you to part with their hard earned money? Or will you actually walk away having learned something and in fact be better equipped to take that post in management?

Also at a leadership seminar you can learn to more effectively understand the role of a leader in your organization and thus better assume that position. This may mean that you will have to take an assessment of your own leadership style and after having done so make adjustments where necessary for improvement.
Improve Your Communication Skills
Another thing that a good leader should know how to do is determine how and where to involve other people in their decisions and how to most effectively delegate responsibility. This inevitably means that a leader must have top notch communication skills as well as leadership skills.
